Copyright and Licensing Policy

Retention of Copyright

Authors publishing in Geliotekhnika retain copyright in their articles.

Authors are not required to transfer copyright to the journal or to I-EDU GROUP LLC, which provides publishing and technical services. Authors’ moral rights, including the right to be identified as the authors and to protect the integrity of their work, are retained in accordance with applicable law.

Non-Exclusive Right of Publication

Following acceptance of an article, the authors grant the journal and publisher a non-exclusive right to:

  • publish the article for the first time;

  • identify Geliotekhnika as the original place of publication;

  • distribute, index, archive, and preserve the article in print and electronic formats;

  • register, update, and transmit the article’s DOI and metadata to relevant services;

  • perform technical actions necessary for scholarly communication and the digital preservation of the published material.

This right is non-exclusive. Authors may enter into other arrangements provided that they do not conflict with the journal’s right of first publication or the terms of the applicable open licence.

Creative Commons Licence

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

This licence permits users to:

  • copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;

  • remix, transform, and build upon the material;

  • use the material for academic, educational, commercial, and other lawful purposes.

Provided that the licence terms are followed, the licensor cannot revoke these permissions. The full licence is available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.

Attribution Requirements

Anyone reusing the material must:

  • give appropriate credit to the author or authors;

  • provide the article title and identify Geliotekhnika as the original place of publication;

  • provide the bibliographic details and DOI or a persistent link to the article, where available;

  • provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence;

  • clearly indicate whether changes were made;

  • avoid implying that the authors or the journal endorse the particular reuse.

Attribution may be provided in any reasonable manner. No additional legal or technological restrictions may be imposed that prevent uses permitted by the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Authors’ Reuse and Self-Archiving Rights

Without any embargo period, authors may:

  • deposit the submitted manuscript, the accepted manuscript following peer review, and the final published version in an institutional or subject repository;

  • post the published article on a personal or institutional website;

  • use it in teaching, lectures, conference presentations, dissertations, books, reports, and subsequent scholarly works;

  • distribute copies for academic, educational, or professional purposes;

  • prepare translations, adaptations, and derivative works in accordance with CC BY 4.0.

When the published version is reused, the original publication, journal title, and DOI, where available, must be cited.

Article Versions

Authors may retain and distribute the following versions of an article:

  • the original manuscript submitted to the journal;

  • the accepted manuscript following peer review and editorial revision;

  • the official final version published on the journal website — the Version of Record.

Where possible, users should link to the final published version through its DOI and clearly identify the version being shared.

Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for obtaining any permission required to use figures, tables, photographs, maps, data, software code, text extracts, and other third-party materials included in their articles.

Where third-party material is identified in a separate credit line as being subject to another licence or terms of use, it is not covered by the article’s general CC BY 4.0 licence. Permission from the relevant rights holder may be required for its reuse.

Authors must clearly identify all such exclusions in a credit line or licence notice placed close to the relevant material.

Data, Software Code, and Supplementary Materials

The licensing terms for research data, software code, models, and supplementary materials published with an article must be clearly stated on the page or in the repository where those materials are made available.

The CC BY 4.0 licence applied to the article does not automatically extend to material subject to third-party rights, confidentiality, personal-data protection, patents, contractual obligations, or other legal restrictions.

Peer-Review Reports

The journal uses double-anonymous peer review. Review reports are confidential editorial documents and are not covered by the CC BY 4.0 licence applied to the article.

A review report will not be published openly or disclosed to third parties without the reviewer’s permission, except where disclosure is required by law or for an authorized ethical investigation. Separate publication of a review report requires the explicit agreement of both the reviewer and the journal and the application of appropriate licensing terms.

Copyright Infringement

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts do not infringe copyright, licensing terms, or other intellectual-property rights.

Suspected plagiarism, unauthorized reuse, or other possible copyright infringement will be considered under the journal’s Plagiarism Policy, Publication Ethics Policy, and Allegations of Misconduct Policy.

Where necessary, the journal may correct or remove material or publish a correction, an Expression of Concern, or a retraction notice. Such action does not revoke lawful reuse previously made under CC BY 4.0, although users should appropriately acknowledge any later change in the publication’s status.

Other Rights and Limitations

CC BY 4.0 grants permissions within the scope of copyright. Privacy and publicity rights, moral rights, patents, trademarks, confidentiality, personal-data protection, and other third-party rights may restrict particular uses of the material.

Anyone reusing material is responsible for independently determining whether all applicable rights and legal requirements have been satisfied.

Opinions, conclusions, and recommendations expressed in published articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the views of the journal, its Founder, Editorial Board, or publisher.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and lawful use of submitted material, for obtaining all necessary permissions, and for respecting third-party rights.

Policy Administration

This policy takes effect from the date of its publication on the official website of Geliotekhnika and will be reviewed periodically to reflect relevant legal, technological, and publishing developments.
