Open Access Policy

Open Access Model

Geliotekhnika supports the free and open dissemination of scientific knowledge in solar energy, solar-energy conversion and utilization technologies, photovoltaic systems, solar thermal energy, energy storage, renewable energy, and related engineering fields.

The journal operates under a fully open access model. The full text of every scientific article published under this policy is made freely and permanently available to all users on the journal’s official website.

Immediate and Free Access

Articles are made available in full immediately upon publication:

  • without a subscription;

  • without registration;

  • without fees for reading or downloading;

  • without an embargo period.

The journal does not charge users to read, download, or link to published articles.

Creative Commons Licence

All articles published under this policy are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

This licence permits users to:

  • read, download, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium or format;

  • remix, transform, and build upon the material;

  • use the material for academic, educational, commercial, and other lawful purposes.

Provided that the licence terms are followed, the licensor cannot revoke these permissions. The official licence is available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.

Conditions of Reuse

Anyone reusing the material must:

  • give appropriate credit to the author or authors;

  • provide the article title and identify Geliotekhnika as the original place of publication;

  • provide the bibliographic details and DOI or a persistent link to the article, where available;

  • provide a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence;

  • clearly indicate whether changes were made;

  • avoid implying that the authors or the journal endorse the particular reuse.

No additional legal terms or technological measures may be applied that prevent uses permitted by the CC BY 4.0 licence.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright in their articles and grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication.

Authors’ rights, the rights granted to the journal and publisher, third-party materials, and reuse conditions are described in detail in the journal’s Copyright and Licensing Policy.

Scope of the Licence and Previously Published Archive Content

CC BY 4.0 applies to material published under this policy where the licence is expressly identified in the full text or on the official webpage of the relevant article.

CC BY 4.0 does not apply automatically or retrospectively to archive content published under a previous publishing model or on different terms. The reuse of such content is governed by the original copyright and licensing terms stated in its full text or on its official webpage.

Authors’ Deposit and Sharing Rights

Without any embargo period, authors may deposit and share the submitted manuscript, the accepted manuscript, and the official final published version of an article through:

  • personal or institutional websites;

  • institutional or subject repositories;

  • appropriate scholarly and academic platforms.

When the official published version is shared, the original publication and DOI, where available, must be cited.

Author Charges and Free Reader Access

Open access means that published material is free for readers; it does not necessarily mean that publication is free for authors in every case.

The Article Processing Charge and any applicable waiver or discount conditions are stated clearly in the journal’s separate Article Processing Charge Policy. A fee or waiver status does not influence peer review or editorial decisions.

No fee is charged to readers for access to published articles.

Metadata and Scholarly Discoverability

The journal may provide article bibliographic metadata, abstracts, keywords, author information, DOIs, and links to scholarly search, indexing, library, and aggregation services.

Metadata dissemination supports the discoverability, citation, and long-term accessibility of scholarly content. Authors’ personal data are processed in accordance with the journal’s Privacy Statement.

Digital Preservation and Long-Term Access

The journal seeks to ensure the integrity, backup, and long-term digital preservation of its published content. The archiving systems actually used and the applicable preservation arrangements are identified in the journal’s separate Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy.

Authors’ deposit of article copies in institutional and subject repositories provides additional support for the journal’s long-term open access strategy.

Third-Party Materials and Other Rights

Third-party material identified in a separate credit line as being subject to another licence or terms of use may not be covered by the article’s general CC BY 4.0 licence. Permission from the relevant rights holder may be required for its reuse.

CC BY 4.0 does not automatically override privacy and publicity rights, moral rights, patents, trademarks, confidentiality, or personal-data protection requirements.

Policy Administration

This policy takes effect from the date of its publication on the official website of Geliotekhnika and will be reviewed periodically to reflect relevant legal, technological, and publishing developments.
