Repository Policy

Purpose of the Policy

Geliotekhnika supports open access, author self-archiving, and the broad dissemination of scientific results in solar energy and related engineering fields.

Authors retain copyright in their articles and may deposit different versions of their manuscripts in appropriate repositories and on scholarly platforms without an embargo period, subject to this policy.

Article Versions

For the purposes of this policy:

  • Submitted Version (Preprint) means the manuscript before journal peer review;

  • Accepted Author Manuscript (AAM/Postprint) means the peer-reviewed and accepted version before final journal copyediting, typesetting, and official design;

  • Published Version (Version of Record — VoR) means the final article published with the journal’s official formatting, final metadata, publication details, and DOI.

Each version must be clearly identified according to its status.

Permitted Deposit Locations

Authors may deposit the submitted version, accepted author manuscript, or Version of Record in:

  • a personal website;

  • the website of the author’s institution;

  • an institutional repository;

  • a subject or disciplinary repository;

  • a repository designated by the research funder;

  • a scholarly or academic sharing platform, subject to its applicable terms of use.

The Version of Record is also made freely and permanently available on the journal’s official website.

Embargo Period

No embargo period applies to the deposit of the submitted version, accepted author manuscript, or Version of Record.

Authors may deposit the relevant version immediately, provided that its status is clearly identified. Material deposited before acceptance or official publication must not be presented as the final version published by the journal.

Version-Labelling Requirements

Each copy deposited in a repository must clearly identify its status as:

  • Submitted Version/Preprint;

  • Accepted Author Manuscript/AAM/Postprint;

  • Published Version/Version of Record.

A preprint or accepted manuscript must not be presented as the journal’s final published version. The journal logo, final pagination, and official publication layout must be used only with the Version of Record issued by the journal.

Citation and Linking After Publication

After the article has been officially published by the journal, previously deposited records should, where possible, be updated to include:

  • the full bibliographic citation of the published article;

  • the journal title — Geliotekhnika;

  • the publication year, volume, issue, and page range or article number, where available;

  • the DOI or persistent link to the Version of Record;

  • a statement that the official published article is licensed under CC BY 4.0.

The repository record must continue to identify clearly which version has been deposited.

Preprints

Posting a manuscript as a preprint before submission does not normally prevent its consideration by Geliotekhnika.

Authors must disclose the existence of a preprint when submitting the manuscript and provide its DOI or persistent link. The preprint must be clearly identified as an author-posted version that has not undergone peer review.

After publication, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record with the full citation and DOI of the published article. The existence of a preprint must be disclosed to the journal when assessing prior publication, originality, and duplicate-publication requirements.

Corrections, Retractions, and Changes in Article Status

Where a correction, an Expression of Concern, or a retraction notice has been issued for a published article, authors and repository administrators are encouraged to update the deposited record with a link to the relevant notice.

The deposited version must not misrepresent the status of the scholarly record. A modified unofficial file must not be substituted for the Version of Record; corrections and post-publication notices are communicated through official DOI-linked documents on the journal website.

Copyright and Licence

Copyright remains with the authors. Official articles published by the journal under this policy are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

CC BY 4.0 permits copying, sharing, adaptation, and commercial or non-commercial reuse of the Version of Record, provided that appropriate attribution and source information are supplied. The official licence is available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.

The CC BY 4.0 licence identified for the Version of Record does not automatically apply to a preprint or AAM unless the author has separately made that version available under the same or another licence. The licence status of each deposited version must be clearly stated.

Third-Party, Institutional, and Funder Requirements

Authors must ensure that deposited material complies with:

  • third-party copyright and other intellectual-property rights;

  • restrictions applying to figures, tables, data, software code, and other material used under a separate licence;

  • institutional, funder, contractual, confidentiality, and personal-data protection requirements.

Material identified in the article as being subject to another licence or separate terms of use may not be covered by the article’s general CC BY 4.0 licence. Additional permission may be required to deposit or reuse such material.

Previously Published Archive Content

This policy and the CC BY 4.0 licence do not apply automatically or retrospectively to archive content published under a previous publishing model or on different legal terms.

The repository deposit of previously published content must comply with the copyright and licensing terms stated in the full text, on the official article webpage, or in the original publishing agreement.

Policy Administration

This policy should be read together with the journal’s Open Access Policy and Copyright and Licensing Policy.

The policy takes effect from the date of its publication on the official website of Geliotekhnika and will be reviewed periodically to reflect relevant publishing, legal, and technological developments.

Questions concerning repository deposit or self-archiving should be submitted to:
